Council Member Joseph Zumwald

Joseph Zumwald is a senior planner in the Dayton office of Woolpert, Inc. and an Associate of the firm, where he has worked since 1983. He received certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) in 1998 and earned a bachelor’s degree in geography from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 1981.

Before being sworn in as an Englewood City Council member in September 2007, Mr. Zumwald served for five years on the Englewood Planning Commission. He and his wife have a college-age daughter and two teenage daughters involved in school and club sports. Mr. Zumwald has coached soccer in both the Northmont SAY and Dayton Area CYO leagues and served as the St. Rita Catholic School representative to Northmont SAY for a number of years. He and his family moved to Englewood in 1988.

The Zumwald family is particularly busy during the soccer and volleyball seasons but still makes time to appreciate the parks, trails, local shopping and festivals offered in the community.
